Valentine's Day, also known as Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated on February 14. Valentine's Day started out as a Christian holiday honoring a martyr. My eyes mostly saw red and pink throughout the day as love songs played nonstop. Everyone rushed to buy chocolates and flowers, and many people arrived carrying bouquets to give to their special someone. In contrast, I had a full day of work.
I spent Valentine's Day just like any other day, working on my broadcasting training. enjoyed our time together while we played around and laughed at each other's jokes. Many people might argue that the way I spent Valentine's Day doesn't represent the holiday; I certainly thought so as well as I made my way to my parent's car. My dad soon told me we were going to a family party, there the place was covered in decoration while family members from all places came to celebrate this wonderful day. While the elderly sat and engaged in conversation, the children happily ran around and played. I felt warm inside watching them enjoy each other's company.
The experience taught me a valuable lesson: You don't have to spend Valentine's Day with your significant other; you can also celebrate with your family, friends, and other loved ones.
