During National Women's Month, we honor the significant contributions made by women both domestically and internationally. In March 2023, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra will participate in the National Women's Month celebrations. The 2023 NWMC is consistent with UN Women's International Women's Day theme, "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality," which encourages women and girls to be empowered in order to maximize the benefits of innovation and technology and close the gender gap in ICT and connectivity. We should make an effort to advance the cause of gender equality during National Women's Month. Despite recent significant progress for women, there is still much work to be done. Even in leadership positions, discrimination against women still exists, as do barriers to opportunity. We must keep advocating for women's representation and empowerment in all spheres of society.
