Through Technology We Can Get Better Gender Equality

During National Women's Month, we honor the significant contributions made by women both domestically and internationally. In March 2023, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra will participate in the National Women's Month celebrations. The 2023 NWMC is consistent with UN Women's International Women's Day theme, "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality," which encourages women and girls to be empowered in order to maximize the benefits of innovation and technology and close the gender gap in ICT and connectivity.

We should make an effort to advance the cause of gender equality during National Women's Month. Despite recent significant progress for women, there is still much work to be done. Even in leadership positions, discrimination against women still exists, as do barriers to opportunity. We must keep advocating for women's representation and empowerment in all spheres of society. Through the use of the internet, we are able to spread the word to all parts of the world about gender equality and women's rights. It is possible to improve digital performance while addressing the digital gender divide, according to the strong correlation between the Digital Economy and Society Index and the Gender Equality Index (e.g., gender gaps in access to and use of digital technologies, in digital-related education, in entrepreneurship, in ICT). Therefore, progress in gender equality can coexist with progress in digital transformation.

In conclusion, National Women's Month is a time for us to acknowledge the challenges that still need to be overcome while also celebrating the advancements that women have made. In particular, during these trying times, we must keep encouraging and supporting women. Together, let's work to advance gender equality with the use of the internet and make sure that every woman and girl has the chance to realize her or his full potential.

Longganisa Festival!

The Longganisa Festival is typically observed in Vigan City on January 22 of every year, just a few days before the Vigan City Fiesta on January 25. If I were to describe the beauty of the Festival Its beauty isn't just found in the glamorous performances of the contestants. Nor the efforts of the program directors to provide a good show for all. But I also think that the people assembling to watch this magnificent show adds to its beauty. to buy locally produced food and to support the contenders. It is encouraging to see people coming together to celebrate a festival that has been going on for a long time. Because of our collective fear of contracting the pandemic, none of us were able to fully enjoy the festival. But now that we can all go outside without having to be afraid, I have to admit that I can call this experience beautiful. REFERENCES: Angela Marie Aurellado, January 22, 2023. Araw ng mga Manggagawa

Many of us young people are unaware of the significance of Labor Day, what it stands for, or why it is pertinent to everyone's lives. Without understanding why it is a holiday in the first place, many people treat this day like any other regular holiday. Here are some details about the significance of May 1st and why it is celebrated. According to the Official Gazette of the Philippines, the first labor union in the nation protested against American imperialism and capitalism and demanded independence for the nation. The group marched to Malacanang, where the American leaders were lodged, from Plaza Mariones in Tondo, Manila, according to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP). The protest is regarded as one of the first to occur on Manila's streets. Finally, the Philippine Assembly passed a law establishing May 1 as a national holiday in 1908. We ought to remember the sacrifices made for the people of this nation, as many Filipinos fought for their righ...
